Pianist/composer Kate Williams was brought up in London, studied music at the University of East Anglia, and later attended the Guildhall School of Music's postgraduate jazz course. Her debut cd 'Sycamore Song' was released to critical acclaim in 1999 on the Audio-B label. At the Post Office British Jazz Awards 2000, she received the John Dankworth Award For Talent Deserving Wider Recognition.
Kate's second cd 'Looking Out' was released on 33 Records in March 2002.A trio cd 'Scenes And Dreams' was launched in September 2005.
The material for her own quartet and trio is rich and varied, including pieces by McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Lennie Tristano, and Mulgrew Miller, as well as original compositions.
In addition to working with her own band (which features Canadian tenor player Steve Kaldestad), Kate has played with numerous names on the UK jazz scene, including Dave Cliff, John Etheridge, Jack Parnell, Matt Wates, Tim Whitehead, Tony Woods, Bobby Wellins, Chris Biscoe, Allison Neale, Julian Siegel, and Juliet Kelly.She currently teaches piano and jazz ensembles at Richmond Adult and Community College, London. Kate lives in North London with her husband, the organist/pianist Pete Whittaker.
Steve Kaldestad (tenor saxophone) relocated to London 5 years ago after obtaining a Masters in Music at Montreal's McGill University, and studying in New York with Lee Konitz. He has played with Slide Hampton, Kenny Wheeler, Maria Schneider, Churcho Valdez, and Kurt Rosenwinkel. Steve is currently a member of the Matt Wates Sextet, and co-leads a quartet with drummer Steve Brown.
Jeremy Brown (double bass) has worked with numerous musicians and ensembles including Pete King Quartet, Julian Joseph, Urban Jazz Quintet, Brad Meldhau, Art Farmer, Mark Turner, Anita Wardell, Curtis Stigers, Phil Woods, Johnny Griffin, Louis Stewart and Benn Clatworthy.

Tristan Mailliot (drums) has worked with leading UK and international artists including Art Farmer, Jim Hall, Claire Martin, Peter King, Stan Tracey, Tina May, and Nikki Iles.He is currently working with the Christian Brewer Quintet, John Critchinson Quartet, and Gareth Williams Trio.
